Tips on Time Management for Your Home Based Business

When starting a home business, you are bound to face a number of challenges. Being your own boss is far different from working the traditional 9 to 5 position in the traditional job market. Janet Hanson believes one of the most difficult things you will have to master is Time Management.

Working your Home Based business allows you a tremendous amount of freedom. You can choose the hours and days you want to work, how long you want to work at any given task. You can choose any number of opportunities. These freedoms are amazing benefits, but they can be your greatest downfall if you are not careful. Being busy doesn’t always mean being productive.

Many home business entrepreneurs struggle with time management. If they don’t manage their time well, they struggle with getting the work done that needs to be done. Being at home presents several distractions. Examples are: the television, the housework, or the children. In order to run a successful internet business, you must be able to properly sort out and manage your time. The motto: “Work while you are at work and Play while you are at Play” can help keep you on task.

Janet Hanson knows there are several things you can do to manage your time. First, set some goals for yourself. Don’t make them too unrealistic or “far out”…your goals should also be realistic for you. They should be something you want to strive for. Make them challenging enough to keep you moving forward. Maintaining motivation can be difficult when you have your own home based business, but having clear goals set can help.

Secondly, set up a Schedule for yourself. It can be a list of tasks or it can be mapped out hour by hour. You will still have the freedom to choose the hours that you work and for how long, as well as what days you will take off. It is helpful to set up a pattern of Daily Method of Operation. You may want to schedule your work time for the same hours each day you choose to work and schedule your family time or “free time” as well. Working the same hours almost every day makes it easier for you to get into the work habit and your family will know when you are “off limits” and when you are free to be with them. Working different days and hours makes it more difficult to “get in the groove”.

Lastly, Janet Hanson believes the simple act of setting up a separate office in your home makes it easier to manage your time. By having your own office you will eliminate wasted time to set up your work space each time you want to start. You will also eliminate some of the distractions that can be problematic. If you work from your couch while the television is on, your attention can be divided. If you use the kitchen table, meal planning or cleaning tasks can vie for your time. Having your own office can help you stay focused on the work you plan to do.

Being in business for yourself can be extremely rewarding. Mastering time management will help you be successful.

The Spirit of Giving & Pay It Forward Movement...

Imagine…

What would you do if your doctor told you, you had only 2 weeks to live…

One of my mentors, Brendan Foster (11 yrs old) did this…

"They were probably starving, so… give them a chance."

"Tis the season to give…"

-Brendon Foster

How many times have we over analyzed simple things… in an effort to be "smart"…

And done nothing. Nothing to help others and nothing to help ourselves…

Have you made excuses like I have in the past?

I don't have time.
I don't have money.
My boss won't let me.
It doesn't work for me.
I don't know how to "market…"
This is too complicated.
My sponsor won't call me.
I get no support.
Nobody helps me.
It's too hard.
All these are just scams.
These people are all about money.
"IT" didn't work for me.
I don't know anyone with $5000…
I don't know anyone with $260…
I don't know anyone that would believe in this.
I can't.
It's not for me.
I'm too tired.
I'm too sick.
I'm dying…

I'm dying…?

Do you know… Brendan had
the most powerful excuse in the list…?

But it didn't stop him.

Brendan ROCKS!

What's our next excuse going to be now?

What are you really thankful for?

Let's all do our part to Pay It Forward in some way.

I sincerely wish you all a VERY Blessed Christmas!
I appreciate you.

Looking forward to awesome times and making a HUGE
difference…

Janet Hanson
